Beat the Streak picks for Tuesday, August 13

If you've been wondering where the heck our BTS picks have been, it's because I've been in school and haven't had much time to do writeups.  Frankly I haven't even been making BTS picks for quite a while.  There is still enough time to win, but not much.

I also just noticed that they have a Beat the Streak in a Day game, where you pick 57 players in a day that you think will get a hit and if all of them do you win 5.6 million dollars.  I'm not sure if the game is played every day or if it is only for tomorrow, but it sounds fun.  My guess is that it is every day.

I also noticed they now have an Android app for Beat the Streak.  That's awesome and will make playing the game much more convenient for those of us that have Android devices!

So here are my BTS picks for Tuesday:

  1. Freddie Freeman -- 0.310 (124 for 400)
    • Freeman will bat against Ethan Martin (6.75 ERA) of the Philadelphia Phillies.  Freeman is 1 for 3 against Martin.  He has recorded a hit in 8 of his last 10 games, including his last 4 straight.
  2. Miguel Cabrera -- 0.366 (152 for 415)
    • Cabrera will face off against Hector Santiago (3.43 ERA) of the Chicago White Sox.  Miggy had a home run last night off of Chris Sale, though the Tigers lost 6 - 2.  He is 1 for 3 (.333) against Santiago over the last 5 years.  He has recorded at least one hit in each of his last 10 games.
  3. Ben Zobrist --  0.276 (118 for 428)
    • Zobrist will face Erasmo Ramirez (7.13 ERA) of the Seattle Mariners who he is 1 for 1 (1.00) against in the last 5 years.  Zobrist has recorded at least 1 hit in 8 of his last 10 games.
  4. Adam Jones -- 0.304 (146 for 480)
    • Jones will bat against Randall Delgado (3.48 ERA) of the Arizona Diamondbacks, whom he is 2 for 3 (.667) against over the last 5 years.  He is a very consistent hitter and has recorded at least one hit in 9 of his last 10 games.
